Greely Baseball & Softball Updates - 4/29/22

Both the Greely Varsity Baseball and Softball teams will be home against the Red Eddies from Edward Little today at Twin Brooks.
Greely baseball ace Zach Johnston will be on the hill as the baseball team looks to go 6-0 against a Class A opponent while the softball team looks to keep the momentum going after their win against GNG on Wednesday.

Come out and support these CNYLL Alums as they take the field!

BASEBALL
A few updates from our friends at Greely High School:First, there is still time to sign up for our April vacation camp, grades 3-8. The camp runs at our Greely Road field from 9-noon Monday through Friday during April vacation. Sign-ups are through Cumberland Rec. The camp is directed by Coach Derek Soule, with help from high school players, an exciting opportunity for our Little Leaguers to get to know and learn from these experienced and talented players. Second, this Friday, April 15th, our Greely varsity baseball team is hosting Fryeburg Academy at 4pm. The weather looks good, kids have the day off from school, and we would love to see players from our tee, pony, farm, minor, major, and junior teams there! Help us make opening day a baseball community event! Our varsity field is on the Greely Road side of Twin Brook. Fans in attendance will see some talented players in action, including our scheduled starting pitcher, Zach Johnston, who is not only a Wake Forest commit, but is being scouted by professional teams, and our Tri-Captains: Ryan Kolben, who accepted a Div. I scholarship to play at UMass; Max Cloutier, who has committed to playing at St. Lawrence; and power-hitting Brooks Williams.

SOFTBALL
Also, this Friday, April 15th, our Greely varsity softball team is hosting Fryeburg Academy at 4 pm at Twin Brooks next door to the baseball game.  Come see the former CNYLL softball girls play Fryeburg led defensively all conference player pitcher Sophomore Lily Rawnsley and offensively by all conference player junior infielder Mia Wright.  Other players to watch include the defensive play of SS Sophomore Avery Butler, and the power hitting of Senior Olivia Stewart and Sophomore Haley Stewart.
